The Process of Designing a Bespoke Engagement Ring
1. Create the Design
Connect with one of our jewellery experts virtually to discuss any design ideas you may have. If you’re unsure of the design, you can explore our range of engagement rings for inspiration, and our experts will work with you to customize these designs to suit your style and budget.
2. Select the Hero Gemstone
One of the most important decisions in creating your ring is choosing the centre stone, as its shape sets the tone for the entire design. Our experts guide you through the gemstone selection process to help you find the perfect stone that reflects your style and vision.
3. Designing the Structure
The choice of setting plays a crucial role in how light interacts with the stone, influencing its brilliance and sparkle. We offer a variety of setting options tailored to each gemstone shape, designed to enhance its natural beauty and create a ring that is uniquely yours.
4. Choosing the Metal
Another significant consideration is the precious metal used for the ring. The most popular choices are platinum and 18ct white, yellow or rose gold. The key differences between the metals are durability, maintenance and colour.
5. Finishing Touches
Additional diamonds along the band are a popular choice however, there are many other options to choose from. Changing the band profile, adding millgrain detailing or custom engraving a sentimental date are a few finishing touches that make your design truly bespoke.
6. 3D MODEL
Our workshop creates a 3D model of your design for you to review. The 3D model is made to scale and is true representation of the metal component of your ring. We can place the central diamond in the model and you try it on and make any slight adjustments prior to production.
7. Crafting the Ring
Our experienced team of jewellers and diamond setters work on creating your bespoke vision. This process that can take 3-4 weeks to complete. Our team of experts will keep you updated throughout the process and can answer any questions you may have.
8. The Presentation
The completed engagement ring is presented in a beautifully crafted Ethical Adorn jewellery box. We also include an Ethical Adorn pouch to keep the ring safe and add an extra touch of elegance for your special moment.
